Givenchy Launches Its New Bond Shopper Bag
On October 15th, the House of Givenchy will launch the first signature tote by Artistic Director Clare Waight Keller: the Bond oversized shopper.
Named for both its light silver stud buttons as well as for the contents it holds together, the Bond was directly inspired by Clare Waight Keller’s own travel-intensive lifestyle — from her weekly commute between London and the Givenchy studios in Paris to her worldwide travels.
First unveiled at the Spring Pre-Collection, the Bond is designed like an invitation to escape: in a snap, its widepaneled structure unfastens to lie completely flat in a suitcase, and reassumes its shape as needed for carrying treasures picked up along the way. Straps long enough for shoulder- or hand-carrying enhance practicality, as does a removable inner pouch in canvas (for leather styles) or in leather (for canvas styles) that lets the wearer securely stow essentials inside the Bond, or carry separately.
For Spring 20, the Bond is available in oil blue, aubergine or black embossed leather; in ecru cotton canvas edged in aubergine leather, or in an oil blue and white jacquard with the Givenchy chain motif. Distinctive light silver stud buttons recall the gold ones on Givenchy trenches and coats for Fall-Winter 2019-2020.
