Tod's SS 2021 Women's Collection The Shirt Bag

One of Walter Chiapponi’s favorite accessories in the SS 2021 Women’s Collection, Tod’s Shirt Bag takes its name from the construction of the bag itself: a big piece of leather folded in the same way you fold a cotton shirt. No metal accessory was used for the silhouette of the bag but only leather, folded and then stitched together to give the right shape. “We wanted to give it a “cocoon” effect by using soft leather folded as if to look like a precious blossom” affirms Walter. 

With its soft and wrapping silhouette, the Shirt Bag gives the idea of a sensual touch, the same concept that permeates the whole collection: there is no edge, no straight line, no point. Every element was rounded off as it is no longer time to be hard. 

Tod’s Shirt Bag perfectly embodies the concept of the whole Spring-Summer 2021 Collection, defined in one word from its Creative Director, Walter Chiapponi, as “spontaneous”: “I wanted it to be all natural and organic, to bring out the sincerity and tell the different characters of a woman.” 

And every woman can find her favorite Shirt Bag choosing among the small, medium or bigger size. It comes in a variety of different leathers, from the suede to the crocodile printed leather version, through the hammered leather and the antique and vintage effect version with strings. 

Walter says of it “I’m in love with the Shirt Bag because of its softness and its deconstructed shape”.
