Loewe Opens A New Store In The Philippines

LOEWE opened its store in the prestigious Greenbelt 3 shopping mall in the capital of Manila. Taking direction from Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, the new Greenbelt Philippines location employs design details that refer to the Casa LOEWE concept found in flagship stores from Madrid to Tokyo. From painting and sculpture to furniture and crafted objects, the collection of objects sits in complement to the brand’s products and give the space the feel of an art collector’s home.

The store has been designed using a selection of materials including handmade ceramics, brass and turned iron which are used throughout the interior. Beautifully crafted blue and green ceramic shelving and walls, which are hand moulded in Spain, offer a colourful nod to the brand’s heritage.

Contemporary furniture can be found throughout, with Utrecht recliners and Steltman chairs by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld sharing the space with signature LOEWE designs such as transparent podiums filled with random objects such as light bulbs, peppers or coloured felt layers. Antique items such as Spanish ceramic vessels and a tin chandelier designed in the UK in the 19th century also adorn the shop.

At LOEWE Greenbelt Philippines, the exhibited artworks represent LOEWE’s deep commitment to the arts and feature artists who, in many cases, have a long-standing relationship with the brand. These include a tapestry by John Allen, one of the most sought-after designers within his discipline, entitled Peveril of the Peak. This joins Piece 3 by Maria Kristofferson, a Swedish ceramic artist renowned for her geometric, box-shaped forms.

The new 122 sqm LOEWE store is located on the mall’s ground floor and will showcase the full range of women’s ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, accessories, eyewear, and jewellery.
