KENZO Launches Collaboration With Futura 2000
First revealed during the KENZO Fall/Winter 2025 Men’s show, the collaboration between KENZO and legendary artist Futura 2000 now takes full form with the launch of an exclusive collection. At the intersection of street culture and high fashion, the collection brings together KENZO’s emblematic codes and Futura’s pioneering, graffiti-driven aesthetic to mark the early debut of the Fall/Winter 2025 season.
“When the opportunity came about to work with Nigo again, I was beyond excited. We first collaborated, in the last century, with various projects across multiple platforms. Nigo has always been extremely detailed with a discerning visual aesthetic. As the current artistic director of KENZO, he asked me to submit designs based on my atomic elements that could play with the KENZO floral imagery. The possibilities of seeing my artwork, across a variety of fantastic pieces and outstanding fabrics, were super inspiring. It’s an absolute honor to work with Nigo again, I believe this collaboration is a celebration of our more than 25-year history, and friendship.” — Futura 2000
In this collaboration, Futura 2000 reinterprets two of the House’s most iconic signatures: the Boke Flower and the KENZO Paris logo. Infused with the artist’s urban visual language, the Boke Flower takes on a new life, layered with movement and edge, while the KENZO Paris logo is transformed through a raw, graffiti-style lens. The result is a bold collision of tradition and rebellion.
A highlight of the collection is a vibrant all-over animation that fuses Futura’s signature Atom motif with the reimagined Boke Flower — a dynamic composition that celebrates energy, transformation, and motion.
This collaboration delivers a complete wardrobe offering at the early stage of the FW25 season. It includes a range of ready-to-wear pieces and accessories that channel the statement visuals into wardrobe staples. Key items include graphic jersey pieces, elevated knitwear, windbreakers, and coach jackets, drawing from Nigo’s wardrobe and reinforcing the hybrid spirit of the collection.
The campaign was shot by Japanese photographer Jiro Konami inside Futura’s New York atelier.
The KENZO x FUTURA 2000 collection will be available through a digital pre-launch on July 3rd, followed by a full release on July 7th at KENZO stores, on KENZO.com, and via select global partners.
About FUTURA 2000
FUTURA 2000 (b. Leonard Hilton McGurr, 1955, New York, NY) is an artist whose practice first developed within the genre of graffiti in New York City during the 1970s. He was among the earliest artists to introduce abstraction into the art form and among the first to break barriers and show in contemporary art galleries in the early 1980s. FUTURA is regarded as one of the world’s most dynamic collaborators and has built a rich oeuvre of intersectional work with fellow artists and creatives across multiple genres. In 2020, Rizzoli New York published FUTURA: The Artist’s Monograph, the most in-depth and comprehensive survey of the artist’s career. FUTURA’s work is included in the collections of The New Museum, New York; MOCA, Los Angeles; Groninger Museum, the Netherlands; Yvon Lambert, Galerie De Noirmont; Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris, and Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki Gallery, Tokyo, Japan, and Eric Firestone Gallery, New York, NY. In 2020, the Isamu Noguchi Museum presented FUTURA Akari, an installation of Akari light sculptures customized by FUTURA 2000. In the same year, the artist created a large site-specific installation at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and was included in the exhibition Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip Hop Generation at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. From September 2023 to February 2024, the University at Buffalo Art Galleries presented FUTURA2000: Breaking Out, the first comprehensive solo institutional examination of the artist’s prolific output. The exhibition was presented at The Bronx Museum from September 2024 to March 2025.
