KATE SPADE NEW YORK WELCOMES SPRING 2023 WITH A NEW CAMPAIGN THAT INVITES CONSUMERS TO EMBRACE THE UNEXPECTED THROUGH THE PERSPECTIVE OF A MIS-ADVENTURE
The iconic brand ushers in its 30th anniversary and launches the Spring 2023 collection with a series of imagery and videos inspired by its origins and a belief in approaching unknown possibilities with openness and excitement
Kicking off its 30th year, kate spade new york debuts its Spring 2023 collection with a thought-provoking campaign that encourages customers to view life’s (mis)adventures and intentional detours through an optimistic lens. Through a series of short stories with titles like, “It All Started with A Sudden Shower” and “It All Started with A Different Point of View,” it’s easy to see that an adventure can be anything, anywhere, at any time. In celebration of the brand’s 30th anniversary, the Spring 2023 campaign is inspired by the brand’s storied heritage and its timeless enthusiasm for exploration and discovery. The campaign starts at the idea that there is no wrong turn or right turn, there is only your unique individual turn.
Unfolding against vivid backdrops in Mexico City with lush greenery, eclectic apartments, and textural city streets, the “It All Started With” series is about discovering something in the moment and the beauty that can lie within the unknown. The video vignettes and campaign images were captured by photographers and videographers, The Bardos, Lindsay Hamlyn and Toa Daguet, styled by Gayle Spannus, and feature actresses, Coco Gordon Moore and Jordan Seamón, model Daseul Kim, pianist, Dasol Kim and Nouri Hassan. Kate spade new york collaborated with strategy and design consultancy SYLVAIN on campaign concept, execution, and production.

The kate spade new york spring 2023 collection is a celebration of kate spade new york’s core DNA, reimagined in new ways through fresh takes on color, pattern, novelty and craftsmanship. The collection is filled with exaggerated florals, oversized polka dots, spring stripes and rain motifs. To commemorate the brand’s recently announced partnership with Pantone, the collection also includes designs from a kate spade green capsule collection filled with bright new styles featuring the signature hue.
This season, the brand is also paying homage to its storied history with a refreshed version of the beloved Sam bag. The Sam Icon is debuting in a variety of vibrant colorways including kate spade green and playful patterns that are just as timeless as the original, with updates in new animations, including novelty floral and spazzolato leather iterations, and, for the first time, the classic nylon Sam Icon bag is now made with a 100% recycled nylon shell on the outside - a material the brand has coined KSNYL - and a 100% recycled polyester lining on the inside.
