Kate Spade New York today announces the relaunch of its classic nylon Sam handbag collection, having re-imagined the heritage piece in a range of new styles, shapes and prints that reflect the brand’s spirited and colorful DNA.  

As the first handbag that debuted when Kate Spade New York launched in 1993, the original Sam filled the need for a chic, no-nonsense bag that was both utilitarian and timeless—one that would complement any outfit and didn’t break the bank. Sam was simple, boxy and black, made from waterproof nylon.  It was an unexpected design when it debuted, but embodied the playful pragmatism that the brand continues to stand for today.
