Kate Spade New York Fall 2022 Collection

This fall, it’s about the little things: intimate gatherings, the comforts of home, the interior beauty we surround ourselves with—and the pleasures of sharing that beauty with others. A rose-covered wallpaper, a cozy plaid, the crisp pleat of a lampshade—these elements (and more) come together to create our latest collection. So please, make yourself at home.

Handbags & Small Leather Goods (SLGs)

This season, our accessories are inspired by our beloved city and the comforts—and beauty—of the home. You'll find textured touches like needlepoint embroidery, velvet and calf hair. Throughout the collection, we have given a fresh update to our signature kate spade new york logo plaque. Inspired by our original logo from the early 1990s, the new plaque nods to our heritage in a modern enamel.

The Sam Icon is the original 1990’s ‘It’ bag. The timeless style now comes in a range of sizes and silhouettes, including a small tote, mini hobo bag, and medium shoulder bag that have been updated in a rainbow of colorful leathers and a floral-embellished nylon for fall. The Sam Little Better Nylon returns as well in black and dark merlot. 

Clean lines and textured leather create structure in Katy, a bold new handbag group with microsuede lining, our new logo plaque and a versatile color palette, available in both a medium top handle and backpack. The Evelyn medium convertible shoulder bag is another new style composed of quilted leather, contrast piping and a brushed gold chain that adds sophistication to the classic handbag shape. Evelyn also comes in a new rose garden motif made with hand-cut silk and velvet embroidery. 

Racing Stripe combines buttery leather and woven jacquard for a nod to vintage luggage with soft, feminine curves juxtaposed against classic sportiness. An abstract, modern edge to this collection takes the form of Dottie. An assortment of multi-colored nappa leather dots build structure in a small tote, small bucket bag, and medium tote. Accompanying Dottie is Rubix, which is back with even more capacity and three colorways: timeless taupe, fiery orange, and dark merlot. 

Favorite core styles have also been refreshed. The Knott group sees the addition of a bold whipstitch in smooth nappa leather, while the Manhattan tote is reimagined with chunky, handwoven plaid and the new plaque logo. Our Spade Flower Jacquard not only comes in a new colorway, neutral multi, but also features an oversized scale of the signature brand code. 

Novelty brings new meaning to 3D and texture. Lucy the Leopard blends the sartorial neutral leopard print with emerald green. The pleated leather Patisserie 3D croissant clutch creates a fun, elevated take on the flaky French treat and is seen across categories including ready-to-wear, jewelry, and fashion accessories. Our collaboration with Out of Print takes novelty to a new level with Storyteller. Canvas book totes and Italian leather 3D book crossbodies are inspired by literary classics like Secret Garden and Black Beauty, bringing a beloved novelty style to the modern day. 

Ready-To-Wear

Fall ready-to-wear encapsulates the changing of the leaves with a collection of season-specific fabrications — silk, tweed, cashmere, leather, faux fur — that heighten classic kate spade new york silhouettes. These textiles emulate the lush interiors of the home — bold, textured wallpaper, velvet drapery, pleated lampshades and lacquered furniture. Menswear and shirting are also interpreted across this category with plaid, wool suiting and crisp shirts. 

The Julia Dress, Dot Party Faille Midi Skirt, and Dot Dot Dot Cashmere Sweater echo the Dottie handbag group. More inspiration from handbags is found in the leopard jacquard print of the Knott Dress, as well as the rose garden motif in the Brocade Coat, Puffer Jacket, Top and Dress. The Joy Dot and Rose Border Silk Twill Pant Sets are perfect to take from lounging around the house to an impromptu afternoon with friends. And for chilly autumnal days, the Faux Fur Trim, Fiesta Plaid Anita Coats and Autumn Check Coat pair a peacoat silhouette with our statement flair in engine red, grapefruit soda and black/cream colorways. 

Jewelry

Fall 2022 jewelry captures classic kate spade new york elements with modern twists. Light Up the Room mirrors the plaid patterns featured in our ready-to-wear and shares silhouettes with Magic Moment, this season’s bridal capsule. Handbag novelty is also referenced in autumnal jewelry. With pavé stones in an art deco style, Fierce channels Lucy the Leopard novelty with plenty of statement earrings, pendants and rings. French Twist is a subtle, feminine interpretation of Patisserie novelty, with pastry twists in staple silhouettes, while Patisserie jewelry is composed of delicate, charm-detailed pieces. Dazzle is a new core style with diamond-shaped stones that add the perfect amount of sparkle for any occasion. And Heritage Spade Flower is back with pieces that echo the cross-category themes of plaid, multi dot and leopard print.

Shoes

Fall footwear takes our girl from day to night. Leandra and Posh Loafers are two new interpretations of a classic fall silhouette that cater to all loafer-lovers with jewel-tone color blocking and trendy platforms. Lucy the Leopard novelty is carried from handbags to shoes in a variety of styles including the Sydney Bootie, Posh Mule, and Muse Needlepoint Pump. We also see the rose garden embroidery motif make its way to footwear in the Dazzle Bootie and Devi Needlepoint Loafer. There are moments of movement with the addition of the tassel adorned Voila Heel and the fuzzy toe box of the Amour Pom Heel. 

Transitional boots from fall to winter include the Merritt lug style boot and the Puddle rainboot. Returning from past seasons, Maren, Gogo, and Winona are just some of the fan favorites that are back with subtle refreshes. 

Tech

Bold prints, fun colorways and even more Lucy, Secret Garden, and Patisserie novelty translate through categories to make our everyday essentials special. This season also sees our new Morgan saffiano leather across phone cases, along with Knott and Sam fabrications in laptop bags.

Fashion Accessories

Fashion accessories add the finishing touch to our fall collection. Core styles like knit beanies and silk twill bandanas are accented with Patisserie and Lucy novelty. Scarves also mirror ready-to-wear prints and novelty with greenhouse plaid and leopard detailing.
