Jimmy Choo Unveils Cruise 2018 Exclusive Film and Editorial Shoot Starring Cara Delevigne
With multiple strings to her creative bow, model, actress and novelist, Cara Delevingne is at the forefront of a new generation of models who have both a voice and a powerful platform, she has been a vociferous champion of a variety of causes spanning women’s health, gender identity, and discrimination. Now a rising Hollywood star who had made recent turns in Luc Besson’s Valerian and last year’s Suicide Squad, Cara is forging a cross-creative career on her own terms and it’s that confidence, as well as her innate sense of fun and glamour which embodies the essence of the Jimmy Choo woman that makes her the perfect choice to star in the Cruise 2018 film, advertising campaign, and editorial shoot.
Known for her eclectic style aesthetic, effervescent personality, and flawless red-carpet style, Cara Delevingne is the ideal muse for Shimmer in the Dark, a film directed by Australian filmaker Lorin Askill. Reflecting Creative Director Sandra Choi’s overarching collection inspiration of dancing Choos, disco and sparkle and dressing up for a night out and telling the story of Cara’s after-dark adventures in NYC set against the soundtrack of I Get Lifted by KC and The Sunshine Band, the film follows Cara embarking on a night out. Stopping traffic and strutting the streets assertively in her crystal embellished MAINE boots and glitter CANDY bag, she draws the attention and admiration of passersby as she makes her way to her final destination: a club called IWANTCHOO.
Elsewhere, an exclusive advertising campaign and editorial shoot lensed by British photographer Tom Craig, documents the different moods of Cara’s Saturday night, from the all-important pre-prep to high party spirits, on to a seductive encounter and returning back home in the early hours. With the New York skyline forming the backdrop, Cara showcases the key product stories; Disco, I Want Choo, and Borrowed from the Boys from the new collection.
“As a model and as a creative, Cara’s personality has always shone through her work and her fun-loving, but glamorous attitude perfectly reflected the Jimmy Choo woman for Cruise 2018,” said Sandra Choi, Creative Director. Powerful and seductive, feminine and effortlessly glamorous, this season isn’t about one look, it’s about the many ways a woman might dress up for a night on the city—but always with a playful allure. The shoot and film both perfectly capture the sense of anticipation and infectious energy that a night out can bring.”
