In Our Shoes, Chapter 1: New York City
Introducing the new men’s and women’s sneakers for Fall-Winter 20/21, Tod’s teamed-up with musician Gabriella Bechtel, actors Levi Dylan (Grandson of legendary musician, Bob Dylan) and Taylor Rosen, and director Jim Dylan, to create a love letter to New York City. Sporting sneakers, leather jackets and pieces from their own wardrobe, the group joined dancers from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts as they danced and styled-themselves to the raucous energy of New York.
The kind of energy that shoots wild, mad-bliss up your spine and makes your heart start to race around. It’s the way you feel when you’ve been walking the pavement all night and now you’re seeing the first sunlight creep through the skyscrapers downtown, or when you’re caught in the rain on Fifth Avenue and your jacket gets drenched, but you don’t care. No, not now. It’s that rush you get when you’re dancing on a sixth-story rooftop and you’re not really sure why you’re there, but you are there and that’s good enough. It’s having so much to see and just two eyes to do the work. It’s the million, zillion people here and there, everybody going somewhere. It’s the cab fare, the pothole steam and the train shaking the ground beneath you. It’s the clanking, the hooting, the hollering in the halls of the immortal city. The second chapter of the project will be unveiled in Spring 2021, in partnership with another International dance school.
