Givenchy Unveils Exclusive Collaboration With The Graphic Artist Chito
Givenchy is pleased to announce that it will premiere selected pieces from its Spring 2022 Pre-collection, produced in collaboration with guest artist Chito, through a special preview starting July 16th, 2021.
Long a friend and fan, Creative Director Matthew M. Williams invited the Seattle-born, Mexico-based artist to develop airbrush graphics and bring his idioms to the Givenchy bestiary especially for this. Conceived as a celebration of individual style, a series of iconic pieces — from t-shirts and jackets to accessories — features fresh spins on House emblems alongside idiosyncratic Chito characters such as his cartoon dog, a symbol of protection and loyalty, rendered in the artist’s ever – evolving aerographic style.
Chito’s Truehearted, a Pop-inspired motif of a girl with a heart, appears on pieces for women and men, for example on t-shirts, a zip-up silk shirt, sweaters, hoodies and Bermudas. The artist’s 4G Heart — a fusion of the Givenchy DNA and the artist’s signature — appears in contrasting colors on a t-shirt, hoodie, or windbreaker.
Accessories include versions of Givenchy’s bestselling Antigona vertical bag and 4G crossbody and bucket styles, in pink and white jacquard, black, or red; Truehearted on white leather city sneakers, and Marshmallow slides in black with a contrasting 4G emblem. A heart-shaped leather bag, a silver water bottle with a red leather strap, and baseball caps bring a jaunty touch to any outfit.
As a special part of this collaboration, Chito hijacked the iconic RIMOWA carry-on, here featured in silver, embellishing it with unique and different artworks.
The Givenchy collaboration with Chito for the Spring 2022 Pre-Collection will launch on WeChat in China on July 9th and roll out to Givenchy stores worldwide and on givenchy.com on July 16th.
