Cartier's Spring/Summer 2020 Eyewear Collection

The new Cartier Eyewear Collection reflects Cartier’s most representative styles balancing the Maison’s values of elegance and savoir-faire with a focus on modern design.

Conceived for a confident and determined man, looking for refined and recognizable models, the Santos de Cartier theme features bold shapes and elegant temples’ silhouette that give prominence to the signature details borrowed from the iconic Santos watch. The screws, inspired by airplane rivets, now appear along the frame’s top bar, on the bridge and on the hinges of the pilot and navigator silhouettes. The lenses’ internal corners and the end tips evoke the original cut of the watch case.

The Panthère de Cartier iconic styles are also emblematic of Cartier’s artisanal flair and impeccable attention to detail. The subtle shapes in metal reveal a more intricate and figurative interpretation of the sculptural feline head and body, which are enriched with colored hand- lacquer touches, recalling the brightness of onyx and emerald. By referencing the Panthère emblematic pieces, created in honor of Jeanne Toussaint, the tone is set for a unique and distinctive selection dedicated to glamorous women with a daring and sophisticated attitude.

The Première de Cartier Collection, inspired by the first Cartier Eyewear Collection presented in 1983, approaches the new season with new fresh colors. In metal, each style is finely adorned with the C de Cartier detail and the Godron motif.
