Burberry Reveals It's Outerwear Campaign
Today, Burberry unveiled its campaign celebrating its iconic outerwear which sits at the heart of the house. Inspired by Thomas Burberry’s invention of gabardine and the brand’s history with the outdoors, Riccardo Tisci has continued this affinity of nature and exploration in every Burberry collection.
The campaign unlocks the notion of freedom and exploration with stills captured by photographer Danko Steiner. Models Irina Shayk, Nic Minwoo, Miles Gardner and Niclas Baker stand tall on plinths as dream-like dancers move weightlessly behind them – embracing the surroundings of the English countryside.
A new chapter for a revolutionary fabric emerges, as a lightweight gabardine debuts. Crafted in the UK, the gabardine is expertly woven in a compact twill with a lightweight hand, allowing it to feature fluidly across quilts and puffers.
Puffer jackets are engineered using modern materials and techniques. Crafted in wind and rain-resistant nylon with styles in cotton gabardine, featuring recycled nylon fabric pockets to lock the insulating fibres. Every element of the design is carefully calibrated to suit its specific need with differing levels of warmth, protection and weight adjusted to allow freedom in the outdoors.
Classic quilt styles in carefully selected weight and fabric durability allow for trans- seasonal layering. Refreshed proportions, check details and contrast trims invigorate classic styles.
WOMENSWEAR
Gabardine styles include the classic black and honey trench coat in English- woven cotton, accented with signature Burberry check lining. An Italian-tailored coat in black with a drawcord waist, detachable hood and rib-knit cuff details.
Quilted styles include a honey diamond- quilted gabardine gilet. An Italian-woven check nylon puffer jacket in dark birch brown with a detachable hood and raglan sleeves. A corduroy collar barn jacket in nylon, featuring a Vintage check lining and a leather patch embossed with logo. The quilted design is engineered with thermoregulation technology to accelerate evaporation and breathability. A diamond-quilted jacket in camel, detailed with a neat corduroy collar and logo appliqué.
Puffer styles include a honey-coloured coat crafted in England from signature cotton gabardine, styled with a detachable hood and rib-knit cuffs. Adjust the silhouette using the drawcord waist. A gabardine coat cut to a relaxed fit, styled with rib-knit cuffs. A puffer jacket with a shearling collar.
MENSWEAR
The signature relaxed-fit trench coat updated in tumbled tropical gabardine for a soft, fluid silhouette and finished with a contrasting Vintage check lining and undercollar.
A protective puffer coat in black nylon. The relaxed-fit hooded design is lined at the collar in check wool cashmere and highlighted with our appliquéd logo. A black padded parka in English- woven cotton gabardine, cut to an oversized fit.
