Tory Burch Opens Rodeo Drive Flagship
Tory Burch’s flagship on Rodeo Drive marks a new chapter for the brand, with a striking façade, eclectic interiors, and otherworldly architecture.
A sculptural trellis climbs up and over the three-story building with a texture that mimics ceramic. The skylight atrium and floor-to-ceiling windows transform L.A. light into an architectural element, filtering through the space and down a sweeping marble staircase inspired by Carlo Scarpa.
Inside the store, curved plaster walls have a striated surface, evoking layers of rock. The technique was hand-done by New York artist collective Art Groove.
Brutalist materials — concrete, stone, hammered iron — bring contrast to the organic shapes, while an eccentric mix of furniture and décor reflects Tory’s eye as a collector. Vintage and antique pieces span decades and styles, from Swedish mid-century to French Deco, Shaker minimalism to Italian modernism, all found by Tory. Bespoke rugs and textiles come in shades of limoncello, tobacco, rust, and moss — a reference to Tory’s very first store in Nolita.
Tory Burch, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, said: “Working on this store was incredibly personal. I have loved Rodeo Drive ever since we opened our flagship 12 years ago, and it was an exciting challenge to expand it and introduce an aesthetic that reflects where we are today. I wanted to create tension through materials, forms, and textures, and mix elements across genres and periods — old and new, artisanal and spare. To me, the store feels quintessentially L.A., where modern design is juxtaposed against so much natural beauty: the light, the mountains, the ocean.”
Chief Executive Officer Pierre-Yves Roussel added: “Since opening her first store in Soho in 2004, Tory has had a singular approach to retail, creating unique and welcoming environments that reflect her passion for home interiors. As she has for all of our global flagships, Tory sourced found objects that celebrate craft, art, and culture for our Rodeo store. We are excited for our customers to discover our beautiful collections in this new space.”
Tory partnered with Curiosity’s Gwenaël Nicolas, who worked on the architecture for our Mercer Street flagship. The entire collection will be offered at Rodeo, with ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, jewelry, accessories, sport, and fragrance merchandised throughout.
On the ground floor, guests are welcomed into a cove dedicated to handbags; the shoe salon is on the second floor, alongside a selection of tennis, golf, and activewear; and the third floor features a private VIP room and a sun-drenched atrium highlighting ready-to-wear and jewelry.
ART & ARTISANS
In addition to Art Groove, Tory collaborated with multiple artists and artisans. Barcelona-based Studio Xavier Mañosa created the ceramic pedestals seen on the ground floor, glazed in deep oxblood, navy, olive, and ecru. A women’s collective in Morocco made the hand-woven indigo rug on the second floor, and Tory worked with Beauvais on a moss Jean Lurçat rug detailed with horses along the border.
Our ready-to-wear fabric team designed the vibrant tapestry jacquards seen on mohair settees and high-back chairs. In the elevator, a trompe l’oeil painted floor pays homage to the iconic marble foyer in Milan’s Borsani Villa, designed by Osvaldo Borsani in the 1940s. The contoured staircase nods to another Italian architect, Carlo Scarpa, with irregular hand-cut pieces of marble set in place with poured terrazzo.
FOUND OBJECTS
Tory sourced a vast array of antique and vintage furniture and décor. Together, it feels collected, not curated — unexpected pieces that work in harmony. A 1930s daybed by Paolo Buffa sits on the third floor, across from a 1960s copper coffee table by Heinz Lilienthal; a French mid-century tapestry hangs in the VIP room; light fixtures range from 1950s Lalique crystal to 1960s Italian Murano glass; and wood and shearling chairs by Swedish and Danish makers lend a rustic warmth.
THE SPRING 2025 COLLECTION
Rodeo opens with the launch of Tory’s Spring 2025 collection, seen at our show in September at the former Domino Sugar Factory in Brooklyn. Inspired by the essence of sport — power and grace, precision and freedom — Tory reinterpreted elements of ballet, fencing, swimming, and martial arts.
Spring 2025 also introduces the Pierced Handbag, an oval silhouette ‘pierced’ with a single oversized ring. Other key accessories include the Balloon Bag, the Twisted Pump, and the Reva ballet flat — a modern take on the 2006 original — alongside brand icons like the ultra-soft Kira Diamond shoulder bag, the Miller sandal in suede and patent leather, and our best-selling Romy handbag collection.
