Marc Jacobs and artist Futura come together for the latest drop, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the American fashion brand. This special-edition capsule collection launches with a global campaign featuring superstar J Balvin, model Paloma Elsesser, and Futura himself, in his reimagined designs of Marc Jacobs classic styles: The Tote Bag, The Snapshot, unisex denim, hoodies, and other RTW & accessories.
Futura, a globally recognized artist known for his pioneering role in new york’s “Subway School” of graffiti in the 1980s, first partnered with fellow NYC-native Marc Jacobs on a 2022 activation benefitting free arts NYC, an organization that aims to empower youth from underserved communities, through art. The pair’s shared love for art, creative expression, and the spirit and ethos of downtown New York, seamlessly come together for a truly unique collection.
The Futura x Marc Jacobs capsule collection marks the eighth drop in a year-long series of special projects where friends and collaborators of the brand reimagine their favorite pieces from Marc's universe. Along with dedicated pop-ups in new york, london, beijing, and japan, launching this month, ‘Futura 2000: breaking out’ debuts at the Bronx museum on September 8th, the largest exhibition of Futura 2000’s work ever presented in New York city.
