Ferragamo Spring-Summer 2025 Campaign
For the Spring-Summer 2025 campaign, Ferragamo explores Maximilian Davis’ contemporary vision for the brand against the backdrop of its history, as seen through the lens of Juergen Teller.
Photographed in and around Tuscany’s Villa Mangiacane, “we wanted to show the DNA of Ferragamo in a real and immediate moment,” explains Davis. “It’s about showing the elegant classicism of the brand, but making it a little more perverse, a little more playful.”
Against the backdrops of the villa’s Renaissance frescoes, amidst its 14th century architecture and idyllic grounds, Liu Wen, Claudia Campana, Diego Gomez and Naoki Sumiya reflect the same relaxed, effortless ease which defines the collection. Captured standing atop dining tables, exploring the city, reclining on sunbeds, there is an expressive authenticity to their appearance.
Sculptural sandals are worn to sunbathe; a new evolution of ballet shoes, their silk ribbons wrapping around the calf, are seen against a time-worn polished plaster backdrop. “We’re taking something from the past and mixing it with something that feels very modern,” continues Davis
Patent red kitten heels, evolved from the Ferragamo archive, almost pierce the cushion of an antique sofa; the meticulous craftmanship of an intricately interlaced Gancini coat is captured on the street with an instantaneous ease. Clutching the soft nappa leather of a Gancini-pierced bag, or a frayed cotton animation of the iconic Hug, Liu Wen and Claudia Campana are framed like the subjects of Renaissance portraiture but depicted with contemporary nonchalance. This is the spirit of Ferragamo today: a celebration of the brand’s past, present and future.
