Wallpaper* Design Awards 2019: Salvatore Ferragamo Victorious In The Best Men's Fashion Collection (A/W 2018) Category

Salvatore Ferragamo takes its place among the winners of the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2019 in the Best Men’s Fashion Collection (A/W18) category. A finalist alongside collections by Comme des Garçons, Lanvin, Maison Margiela and Prada.

The Ferragamo A/W18 collection represents a new chapter in the Fashion House's history, with Paul Andrew's debut as Women's Creative Director alongside Guillaume Meilland, Design Director of the brand's Men's Ready to Wear line, with co-ed runway shows. The two designers are working together to develop a new vision where men and women speak the same language with a creative dialogue inspired by a global vision; a hymn to modernity that embraces the precious past.

Designed by Guillaume Meilland, A/W18 Men’s reworks Salvatore Ferragamo’s formal codes, in line with a philosophy of comfort and functionality. Inspired by the archive, the collection is an elevated take on the utilitarian; authentic pieces have been restudied and revised with innovative construction.

Every year with its Design Awards, supported by a prestigious international panel, Wallpaper* Magazine identifies brands, architects, stylists and more, who stand out for their innovation, providing a point of reference for design, fashion, food and global lifestyle.

For the 2019 edition, the panel included Paola Antonelli, curator of the Department of Architecture and Design at the MoMA in New York, singer and style icon Neneh Cherry, Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, set designer David Korins, the "Wallpaper Designer of the Year 2018" Philippe Malouin and Korean sculptor and artist Do Ho Suh.
