The Milan Flagship’s Façade Transforms with a Spectacular Patchwork Quilt Honoring American Style
With a longstanding appreciation for the timeless beauty and rich culture of Milan, Ralph Lauren and its Via della Spiga store join in the city’s weeklong celebration of Milan Design Week. The flagship, along with The Bar at Ralph Lauren, becomes the destination during Milan Design Week with an immersive experience that presents a distinctive vision of American style in a historied Milanese setting defined by gracious hospitality. A reimagined grand Milanese residence located in the heart of Milan’s “Quadrilatero della Moda,” the flagship features Men’s, Women’s, Double RL and a curated selection of gifts and decorative accessories from the Home collection, epitomizing Ralph Lauren’s lifestyle approach to design. The Bar at Ralph Lauren, with its turn-of-the-century character and courtyard garden, offers uniquely American service and cuisine.
Signature fabrics from the Ralph Lauren Home collection bring the store’s façade to life with an extraordinary patchwork quilt featuring watercolor style florals, classic ticking stripes, and blockprints for an eclectic feel with an American sensibility in a palette of faded reds, soft pinks and creams accented by rich indigos. Café tables and a chic gelato cart serving flavors from Gelateria Umberto 1934 Milano, are set along Via della Spiga to welcome guests. The nearby children’s store joins the festivities with a charming lemonade stand.
The Bar at Ralph Lauren is reimagined with the intimate courtyard featuring waves of pattern from elegant florals and antique blockprints to ticking stripes and relaxed batiks cascading from above to envelop the outdoor dining area. Wicker club chairs and banquettes now paired with the antique blockprint inspired Jardin Floral linen, Nikko Stripe in Indigo and Carleigh Embroidered Ticking add to the eclectic collection of patterns, while tables are set with the floral Ralph Lauren X Burleigh earthenware in Indigo. Brimming with beautiful lanterns hanging from the vine covered pergola, the romantic courtyard creates the perfect respite to enjoy breakfast or lunch al fresco, with a menu of Ralph Lauren’s personal favorites, from the iconic mini lobster roll to the signature Ralph’s Burger. An aperitivo menu crafted to capture the unique Milanese tradition features select vintage wines and bespoke cocktails including the Spiga Spritz, a refreshing and herbaceous gin cocktail topped with champagne, Rosé Royale, a light summer cocktail made with rosé and champagne, grapefruit liquor, adorned with an orange twist, and the RL, a lavender-infused gin sour, which is an exclusive offering for the week of April 17.
