Michael Kors Releases First Mini-Documentary

Michael Kors is pleased to introduce “Michael Kors: A Portrait,” a mini-documentary directed by Grammy-nominated director Alison Chernick.

In this intimate look at the world-renowned fashion designer, Michael talks about his extraordinary career, touching on his origins, his design philosophy, his favorite fashion moments and more.

“I am here to make people feel their best self,” says Michael in the film. “It’s a gift that you get to love what you do and get to create things that excite you and be around people that inspire you.”

The film touches on the many milestones that led Michael to where he is today. From redesigning his mother’s wedding dress at five years old to arriving in New York City during the Studio 54 era as a teenager and, later, heading his own fashion house and serving as the Creative Director of Céline—it’s the story of a remarkable life and an iconic brand.

Concluding the film with his trademark optimism, Michael says, “Fashion people should smile more because they’re lucky. It’s the greatest joy in the world. Smile!”
