Loewe To Launch Casa Loewe In Hong Kong

LOEWE is pleased to announce the launch of the first CASA LOEWE in Hong Kong. The 395 sqm store showcases the full range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, soft accessories, eyewear, jewellery and home scent. CASA LOEWE Hong Kong is located in the Harbour City Ocean Centre mall, Hong Kong’s premier shopping destination.

The CASA LOEWE concept forms the foundation for all LOEWE stores. A place of luxury, intimacy and culture, CASA LOEWE is designed to evoke the home of a collector, where LOEWE products are interspersed with pieces of art, craft and design. Central to the CASA LOEWE concept is the presentation of works from the LOEWE Collection — a growing anthology of art, craft and design accumulated on principles of excellence, innovation and craftsmanship.

Taking its lead from the CASA LOEWE design concept, the Harbour City shop employs familiar interior details while retaining its own bold character, offering Hong Kong an immersive experience of the LOEWE brand. A highlight of the project is a wooden staircase that helps to define the space and produce more fluid circulation between the two sales floors.

Materials including handmade ceramics, brass and turned iron are used throughout the interior, achieving a warm contrast with the expanses of glass and concrete on the floors, whilst beautifully crafted pink and green ceramic tiled shelving and walls create a warm environment that pops with colour.

Contemporary furniture inhabits the space including handmade wool carpets from Spain depicting images by British graphic artist John Allen, chairs by George Nakashima, a bench by Domingos Totora, coffee tables by Belgian interior designer Axel Vervoordt and Utrecht chairs by Cassina Furniture. The space also features an Uchiwa lamp by Ingo Maurier and a day and night glaze lamp by Jos Devriendt. Glass podiums accompany the furniture and are filled with various materials and everyday objects.

Art has always been central to the LOEWE interior retail concept and CASA LOEWE in Hong Kong displays a selection of works by international artists. These include a large painting, Group Hug (2021) by Nigerian artist Nengi Omuku who paints onto panels of a traditional Nigerian fabric known as Sanyan. Date Night Bobby Zoom (2020) by Alvaro Barrington shares the space with Piece 4 a sculpture by Maria Kristofersson. The store also includes two works, 60/2019/160 (2019) and 74/2015//150MP19 (2015) by Ernst Gamperl, the German master craftsman who has revolutionised the practice of wood turning by developing entirely new modes of working that push it to its technical limits. Five of Zizipho Poswa’s stoneware and bronze sculptures from the ‘Miniature’ series sit alongside a Têtes jug by Pablo Picasso, a vessel by ceramicist Jennifer Lee and Red Bars (2020), a painting by Altoon Sultan. A bamboo and rattan vase called SUN by local artist, Angus Ting, makes a beautiful centrepiece and reflects Ting’s belief that flowers represent the beauty of nature and demonstrate the life cycle of the four seasons.
