Introducing The Bottega Veneta Maxi Cabat

In 2001, Bottega Veneta introduced a signature intrecciato craftsmanship in order to create one of its most iconic bags, the Cabat. The construction of this deceptively simple bag requires great skill. Thin strips of double-faced leather, called ‘fettucce’, are woven completely by hand, making the bag identically beautiful inside and out.

This season, Bottega Veneta has reinvented the workmanship with 4-centimeter wide strips to create the Maxi Cabat, one of the first two designs by Creative Director Daniel Lee. Crafting the bag requires twenty nappa leather strips and approximately two full working days.

Essential and unisex, the Maxi Cabat is presented in three styles: a large fully woven tote and a large woven tote finished with a band of smooth leather at the top. A smaller woven version with a removable shoulder strap is called the Maxi Cabat 30, after the measurement of its length. All the styles are available in contrasting colors and in solid shades.

The Maxi Cabat family is completed with a version in Nero Soft Crocodile and a smooth Matte Calf model, which will be available in Espresso, Camel, and Nero.
