Furla and Hello Kitty: A Renewed Friendship
Following the success of their first meeting last year, Furla and the "Hello Kitty" character from SANRIO CO., LTD. are teaming up again for a special new project.
This time, Japan’s most famous character is joined by “My Melody”, another well-known character from SANRIO CO., LTD. The stars of this new collection tell the story of a journey into infinite space.
My Melody is a bunny born in The Forest, Maryland. Her long ears are antennas for friendship and she knows straight away when people are happy or sad. Cheerful and honest, she loves baking cookies with her mama and is protective of her little brother. Among her favourite things are almond pound cake and the hood her grandma made for her.
Three new prints will take us through their new adventure. The Stars print depicts My Melody sitting on Saturn’s rings, surrounded by constellations on a dark blue background. In another print, Hello Kitty hides behind Saturn in the Planets pattern, surrounded by stars, which orbit her on a Camelia background. The third print sees Hello Kitty aboard a large, colourful rocket, flying through space.
All of the prints, created using a digitally stylised cartoon graphic, come alive on the Metropolis—the iconic Furla crossbody shoulder bag styles available in Small, in Ares calfskin leather, and in Mini in Saffiano with the chain and closure in classic metallic gold.
Two Metropolis bags featuring the faces of Hello Kitty and My Melody complete the capsule collection. The specially treated materials enhance the bags’ exterior with pearl effect details and three-dimensional applications like the small bow embellishment on both.
Also in this collection, printed fabric bands make their debut to enrich the bags or to be worn as bracelets to customise your look.
Finally, the Hello Kitty line includes the My Play Furla flaps, and small leather goods like wallets and card cases.
Items from the Furla Hello Kitty collection will be available in select Furla stores (Greenbelt 5, Central Square, Shangri-La Main Wing, Rustan's Makati, Newport Mall) second week of May.
